Photographing babies and very small children is not exactly the easiest thing to do. They wriggle, pull some rather unusual faces and can be pretty difficult to capture. But to be able to witness them growing up is a great privilege. This is exactly what I have been asked to do by Isla’s parents Matt & Gemma.
I was very fortunate to have been able to photograph Matt & Gemma’s wedding a few years ago. Now they have been blessed with the beautiful Isla, and they asked if I could do a portrait photography session with her every 3 months during her first year.
We did carry out a session when Isla when just three months old, but at that age they tend not to do very much other than sleep, feed and occasionally cry. But our last meeting was much more interesting as she is now sitting up (with a little help) and her real character is beginning to show.
During the hour or so that we spent together in their garden, there were a few costume changes and some bubbles, which Isla found fascinating. She is so cute and you can tell even at this early stage, that she is going to be a beautiful little girl with great character.
I’m really looking forward to the next portrait photography session with her when she is six months old to see how much she has grown up.
Below are just a few images from the time we spent together and I hope you enjoy them.
