It has been almost a year since I had the pleasure to document Kathryn and Peter’s Northants Marquee Wedding Photography.
My day started by joining Kathryn and her bridesmaids at her home in the lovely village of Wappenham. Kathryn had set her heart on walking the full length of the village between home and church and was keen for me to document this journey.
With the bridal preparations complete, Kathryn set off on the 10 minute stroll through the village to the church of St Mary the Virgin. There was no need for any fancy transport on this day, just good weather, which thankfully we were blessed with.
Following a beautiful ceremony, everyone headed outside into the lovely July sunshine for a great confetti moment and then continued through the churchyard to adjoining farmland, where their marquee had been positioned.
Kathryn and Peter had asked the local farmers, whose land the marquee had been erected on, if a tractor with a pallet propped on the forks, could be positioned for me to capture a group shot of the entire wedding party and invited guests.
I must say that the health and safety department may well have had a fit if they had seen me balancing some 20 feet in air! But it allowed a good vantage point to get the shot. The things you do for your art?
Shortly afterwards, guests were invited to be seated for the wedding breakfast and I witnessed some great speeches. During the rest of the afternoon, there were outdoor activities for the kids, (although the adults seemed to have more fun with them) and as it was such a lovely evening, it felt like the best garden party ever.
With the evening now drawing on, all that was left for me to complete, was to capture the cutting of the cake and their first dance. With this completed, I said my goodbyes and headed off home, a little weary but confident I would be able to tell the story of Kathryn and Peter’s special day through my Northants marquee wedding photography.
This had definitely been a brilliant day and one that I won’t forget in a hurry. Below is a selection of images from the day and I hope you enjoy looking through them.
