As an experienced Wedding Photographer based in Northampton, I do like to get to know my wedding clients before their big day. When you consider that it could be over a year ago since we met initially, I do encourage them to meet up with me again 4-6 weeks ahead of their big day and catch up on their plans.
During this time together, which will usually last for an hour or two, we will spend some time shooting some very relaxed portraits of them together at a venue of their choice. I feel this time is really useful at building some rapport, and makes the wedding day itself a lot more fun for my clients. Hopefully they realise for their wedding day photos to look great, they need to relax in front of the camera and just be themselves.
With only 5 weeks to go until their wedding, Rhiannon suggested that we meet at Delapre Abbey & Gardens. This was the perfect type of venue to just wander around, and get to know each other a bit better. I must admit that having lived in Northampton for many years, I had not fully explored the grounds at Delapare Abbey, and it was lovely to wander around in the early spring sunshine. Rhiannon & Richard were both great fun and the duration of the shoot was perfect, as literally upon finishing the heavens opened up!
Their wedding is going to be Towcester Racecourse during the first few days of May, and I’m really looking forward to it. As this will be a very grand setting for their special day.
