There is always something special for me to return to the county where I spent the lion share of my childhood. Therefore, I was particularly excited about photographing Hayley & Jon’s Horwoood House Wedding.
The initial enquiry for this wedding had come to me via Hayley’s father, who had been a good friend of mine many years ago when I used to live in Tring. Ironically when we used to hang out together, he was working as a staff photographer for the Bucks Herald newspaper. I have many memories of watching him dart from one assignment to another, then rushing back to his offices(usually around midnight) and straight into the darkroom to develop his films in time for the next edition of the paper. Technology has certainly moved on a lot since then.
I was delighted when he invited me to visit Hayley & Jon at their home to discuss their wedding day plans, and excited to learn that Horwoood House was to be the venue, as I had not worked there before.
My day started at Hayley’s family home, where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready. With all of the preparations completed, the bridal party were transported to Horwood House via a beautuful vintage Rolls Royce.
The ceremony was simply beautiful, with Hayley being given away by her very proud father. After the ceremony, guests were able to relax and enjoy drinks oustside before being invited to sit down for the wedding breakfast.
The whole day was fantastic and it was a real priveledge to have been invited to be a part of their special day. Below are just a small selection of images from the day.
