The East Sussex Wedding of Jo & Olly was held at St Stephens Church in Hammerwood.
It was a real privilege to be asked to photograph Jo & Olly’s East Sussex wedding in early November, as she had been friends of the family for many years.
Jo had moved from Northamptonshire to East Sussex some time ago, to live (and work with Olly), as they are both involved in the equestrian world. Both are well respected producers within the showing world, and Olly’s family own a stud in the lovely East Sussex countryside. Now blessed with a 6 months old baby boy, the scene was set for a lovely autumn wedding.
An equestrian theme ran right through the day, as Jo and her bridesmaids were getting ready at the nearby Marriott Hotel which is located literally 200 metres from Lingfield Racecourse. Jo looks gorgeous in her jodhpur’s and riding boots, so you can imagine how stunning she looked in her wedding dress.
After a beautiful ceremony at St Stephens Church in Hammerwood, they were both whisked away to the reception by two champion scurry ponies. This was a total surprise to Jo, and she braved the November weather for the the short ride (at some pace I hasten to add).
The reception was being staged at Olly’s family home, where a huge marquis had been erected. Just before the wedding breakfast the guests were treated to some some terrier racing, which created some great moments for me, especially the ‘groomsmen’s race’. Which was more like a in a rugby scrum that a foot race! The evening was rounded of with some great live music.
Below are just some of my favourite images from the day:
