Set on the outskirts of Rugby in Warwickshire, is the splendid Dunchurch Park Hotel. This grand Warwickshire wedding venue was the setting for Katherine & Simon’s autumn wedding and I had really been looking forward to spending the day with them.
Their wedding ceremony was set to take place at 11.00am, so I made an early start to join Katherine and her three bridesmaids, who were getting ready at Dunchurch Park. On my arrival the girls were in great spirits and clearly very excited about the day ahead.
Simon arrived at around 10.00am, along with his three best men. Under normal circumstances I would be the only photographer at each wedding that I am booked for, but on this particular occasion I was very fortunate to have Lizzie Adams second shooting with me. This enabled her to spend a bit more time with the boys, ahead of Simon’s interview with the registrar.
With the interviews out of the way and the invited guests all seated, Katherine was escorted down the aisle by her very proud father and and she looked radiant. The ceremony itself was beautiful and following the formalities, guests were able to sit outside and enjoy nibbles and drinks whilst overlooking the hotels extensive grounds.
At this part of the day, if possible I like to steal the bride and groom away for half an hour or so, to photograph them together whilst the prospect of now being Mr & Mrs sinks in. At Dunchurch Park there are certainly plenty of areas for photo opportunties to choose from.
On our return from the brief portrait session, everyone was being seated for the wedding breakfast and some brilliant speeches followed this. As the evening progressed and with the cake cutting and first dance completed, I said my farewells.
