It was back in the early summer of 2018 that I had the pleasure to document the wedding day of Emily and Jamie at the fabulous award winning Dodford Manor. As a Northamptonshire wedding photographer, this is a venue that I have worked at many times before and is always a great experience as the venue and staff are fantastic.
The initial wedding enquiry for Emily and Jamie’s wedding came to me via Emily’s mother, who works at a local business who I regularly do commercial photography for, so it was really nice that I was not a complete stranger to the family.
The plan for the day was that Emily and her bridesmaids would be getting ready at Dodford Manor, so I joined them around mid morning. It was a busy space as the girls got ready, but as a documentary style wedding photographer, I work hard at trying to blend into the background and not affect the natural flow of the day. Then when everyone was ready, we would drive to nearby Flore Church for the ceremony. This journey was only a 10 minutes or so and Emily had surprised Jamie with a special mode of transport in the form of an awesome Rolls Royce.
Following a beautiful ceremony, the wedding party and guests headed back to Dodford Manor for the remainder of the day. The weather was kind for most of the day, so everyone was able to be outside in the central courtyard area, overlooking the rolling Northamptonshire countryside, before being seated for the wedding breakfast and speeches. We also managed to get the formal photographs completed before the meal, which was great, as there were some rain showers later in the evening.
From start to finish, this was a beautiful day to be a part of. I’m so grateful that Emily & Jamie trusted me to provide them with a lasting memory of their special day.
Below is a slideshow that shows the day from start to finish and I hope you enjoy watching it.
