It was way back in February 2016 that I travelled to Hampshire, to meet up with Millie and Paul and discuss their Buckinghamshire Wedding Photography.
Initially Millie explained that they were undecided about having a professional wedding photographer to document their wedding, so I was delighted when they thankfully did choose me.
“We received our wedding photos very quickly after the wedding and we were absolutely thrilled with the result! The quality of the pictures was fantastic and it is obvious Steve is great at what he does. He appears to have a natural talent for taking beautiful photos with amazing angles and made a ‘dull’ (lit) day look like a glorious, bright, sunny day – exactly what I said I wanted.
The photos are glorious and there are a few ‘special’ photos that caught raw emotion that were completely natural and breathtaking. These photos I will treasure forever”!
My day started by driving to the small village of Mursley in Buckinghamshire, arriving at the beautiful thatched ‘Four Penny Cottage’ which was to be Millie’s base for the bridal preparations. The actual (humanist) ceremony was being performed in the grounds of nearby Creslow Manor, which is the home of Creslow Events. The venue is in the middle of rolling Buckinghamshire countryside and the owners of Creslow Manor are family friends, so this made it the perfect venue for all concerned.
With the bridal preparations all complete and after a short 10 minute journey, Millie arrived in style at the venue in her fathers fabulous vintage Chevrolet. Guests by this time were seated on the lawn behind the main manor house and were treated to a beautiful outdoor ceremony. I remember asking Millie at our first meeting, did they have a ‘B plan’ should the weather not be good? She said not, but had instructed guests to bring brollies and wellies….just in case. Thankfully the weather was breezy but dry and the day felt just like a lovely garden party.
During the ceremony there were some beautiful readings, a choir and lots and lots of confetti! Whilst to all intents and purposes, this was Millie & Paul’s wedding day, they did plan to have a civil ceremony at a registry office with just their immediate family, but I’m sure it would not have been half as much fun as the day I documented.
The wedding breakfast took place in the very large marquee at the bottom of the lawn, which looked amazing. With the wedding breakfast completed, they moved on to the speeches and everyone could then relax until later that evening when more friends arrived to enjoy the cutting of the cake and first dance. Then the party got well and truly underway.
The day had been brilliant from start to finish and I was so privileged to have been invited to provide Millie & Paul with their Buckinghamshire wedding photography.
Below is a little insight into the day:
