One of my favourite weddings from 2015, has to be the fabulous Brampton Halt Wedding of Laura & Wez.
Initially my details had been passed to them via a lady who works at my local camera store. It’s always lovely to be personally recommended, so I arranged to visit them at home to discuss their wedding day plans. After spending just an hour with them both, we got on really well and I was excited to be a part of their big day.
With the wedding day upon us, the bridal preparations for Laura and her bridesmaids were taking place at her home, so this is where my day started. The ceremony was due to take place at St John the Baptist Church in Kingsthorpe, which was only a ten minute drive from Laura’s house. This gave me an opportunity to sneak out and visit Wez, who was getting ready nearby. Laura wanted some photographs of him seeing his (surprise) mode of transport to the church. We stood by the car for a couple of minutes before he even realised he had a cool hot rod to travel in!
It was then a quick dash back to Laura’s house for the final preparations, just in time for when her Dad arrived. (One of my favourite images is the one of Laura’s Dad placing a silver sixpence in her shoe). With the preparations completed, Laura looked stunning in her dress and was ready to leave in the lovely Mark 5 Jaguar that was waiting outside.
The ceremony was beautiful, (even though I had been instructed by the vicar to stay at the back of the church). I would obviously much rather had been up the front, amongst the action, but sometimes you just have to bite your tongue?
Following the ceremony, we had time for the confetti and then made the fifteen minute drive to the Brampton Halt, which is a lovely country pub based in the quaint village of Chapel Brampton. This was my first wedding here and it’s a very nice venue. The marquee is situated next to the main building and was beautifully dressed.
With the wedding breakfast and speeches completed, guests were free to enjoy the warm September weather, before the evening party kicked off.
I must say that Laura and Wes were an absolute joy to work with. Having just very recently delivered their beautiful photo book to them, I saw how excited they are about the forthcoming birth of their first child later this year. Many congratulations to you both!!
Below are a selection of images from their day and I hope you enjoy looking through them:
