Do you remember the hottest day of 2015? I certainly do, as it was the day I had arranged to meet up with Nicola & Alex for their pre-wedding photography shoot. With temperatures throughout the day reaching 37 degrees celsius, I was glad we were meeting in the evening, but it was still over 30 degrees at 8pm.
Ok, it was a tad warm during the shoot, but thankfully due to the high pressure weather system that we were enjoying, this resulted in evening light that was nothing short of amazing!
Alex’s family are farmers, so what better place to meet up than on the family farm in Heathencote. Escorted by their two dogs, we went for a wander, giving the inquisitive cows a wide berth, we ended up by a lovely stream that cuts through one of the fields. The dogs certainly didn’t need any encouragement for a cool dip, but then what does a dog do straight after a swim, yep….shake. So it was a good job that Nicola & Alex had fast reflexes whist sitting on the grass!
My pre-wedding shoots are designed to be very informal and hopefully a bit of fun. They are included within my wedding day packages and are a great way for me to spend a little time with my couples (usually 6-8 weeks before the wedding day). This allows us to get to know each other a bit better and also an opportunity to catch up on the final plans and timings of the big day. Hopefully this brief session will also help them to relax in front of the camera and they will then trust me to document their day without being self conscious. Nicola & Alex were both great fun to be around and I knew their wedding was going to brilliant.
Below is a selection of images from the session:
